Important Information for Athletes - Coaches - Managers
Required - to be completed by ALL athletes, coaches, managers interested in taking part in the 2009 Canada Games

  1. Registration - Athletes, Coaches and Managers
    Deadline to complete - June 20th
    • Online registration, including completion of the health questionnaire is mandatory requirement for all Canada Games participants. Registration requires only access to Internet Explorer or Mozila Firefox.

    • WRITE DOWN YOUR USER ID & PASSWORD in a convenient location. You will need it to return to your registration page
    • Photo Uploads - All team NL members are required to upload a HEAD & SHOULDERS photo with their online registration form. In taking photos, please keep in mind the following:
      • Stand in front of a plain background
      • Zoom in to take a head and shoulders shot only
      • Check your expression before uploading, as you are representing the province and your photo will appear in media information and on team accreditation tag.
      • Name the file your name and then save.
      • From the registration site, upload the file titled your name to the online registration website.
         
    • Instructions for easy resizing of image:
      • Find the photo file on your hard drive. Before opening the photo, select the file, right click and select ´open with´. Choose Microsoft Picture Manager.
      • When photo opens in Microsoft Picture Manager, click edit photos from the top toolbar. On the right, a number of options will appear.
      • First select crop photo and click and drag the corners until you have a head and shoulders shot (similar to passport photo). Once image is cropped, hit save.
      • The click "edit photos" again and select "Resize". Choose "Predefined height and width" and then from the drop down menu, select web large file size and click ok and then hit save as. Name the file your name and then save.
         
  2. CCES Anti-Doping Program - online program for athletes, coaches and managers
    Deadline to complete - Friday, July 10th
    • The CCES is pleased to invite you to complete the True Sport Clean 101 e-learning course. This is the first time that the anti-doping program may be completed online and there will be no group session offered. All team members are required to complete this online course, which takes approximately 45-50 minutes. You can complete it in a single session or you may choose to exit at any time and return to where you left off when you next log in. All athletes, missioin staff, coaches and support personnel must complete this course.
    • This course requires a high-speed internet connection and a browser, either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. Pop-ups must be enabled. During the course, one video requires the use of Quicktime, a free video player available for both Windows and Mac OS.
    • To access the course, go to the CCES Online Learning portal at http://education.cces.ca/lms/login/. At the login page, in the [New Users] section, select the [Register] button. You will be prompted for an activation code. Enter the following code to be assigned the correct version of the course.

    • You will then be asked to complete your user profile, including your first and last names, your province/territory, gender and sport. You will need to cheese a username and password. When this is complete, the course will open to the home page.
    • During the course, you will be prompted to select which category of athlete you fall under for the purposes of anti-doping. All Canada Games athletes should choose [National Athletes].
    • Each content module concludes with a three-question quiz. You must score at least 66% or you must repeat the module. At the end of the course, a printable certificate will be available from the portal. Your progress report will also be available to your sport organization.
       
  3. Team NL Agreements - Athletes, Coaches & Managers
    Deadline Friday, July 10th
    For the 2009 Canada summer Games, all Team NL participants - athletes, coaches and managers will be required to complete in hard copy a team member agreement. There are separate agreement forms for athletes, coaches and managers, so please ensure that team members complete the correct form. All team member agreements must include the signature of the athlete and parent (if athlete is less than 19 years of age). Hard copies for all team member agreements must be collected the Coach and/or Team Manager and submitted to the attention of the Assistant Chef Michelle Healey. Please forward by mail upon completion and include a team roster (include all athletes remaining in selection pool and coaching staff), so that we can ensure that agreements have been completed by all participating athletes, coaches and managers.
    Team agreements will be provided in hard copy to all teams by June 10, 2009. TEAM MANAGERS are responsible for collecting all agreements and please mail or drop off completed forms to:
