Seven new members have been elected to the Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association Hall of Fame. The seven were named by provincial athletics president Bob Walsh who said they will be inducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15 during a reception at the track and field building in Mount Pearl.

Elected were builder Jim Browne, builder-athlete Adrian Miller and athletes Dennis Furlong, Robert Fowlow, Jim Jackson, Cyril Power and Joe Ryan.

"All seven are really outstanding" is the way Walsh described the new members. "They are really very worthy members of the athletics community and certainly deserve election to our Hall of Fame. We are all very proud to recognize individuals of such high quality. Thanks goes to Wulf Stender, Ben Dunne, Dee Murphy and Dave Carroll as members of the selection committee for their work."
