Awards


Placing and Awards (Gun Time OR Chip Time)

Gun Time is the official time. All race placing awards are based on GUN TIME - the time from the start of the race (gun) to when you cross the finish line as per IAAF, Athletics Canada, USATF, AIMS and International Awards standards.

The Chip timing is purely for personal interest to track runner´s personal performance. Chip times will be shown in the results.

Prize Money

For the fourth time in the Tely 10 race history, event organizers are pleased to offer prize money to the top three male and female runners in the 84th Annual Tely 10 Mile Road Race. A total purse of $3,000 will be distributed to the top 3 overall male and female runners to cross the finish line.

Fourth place overall male and female runners to cross the finish line will each receive $200 Running Room money card, and $100 money card will be awarded to the fifth place male and female overall runners.

Individual Awards

Individual awards will be presented to:

    • 55 to 59 yrs
    • 60 to 64 yrs
    • 65 to 69 yrs
    • 70 to 74 yrs
    • 75 to 79 yrs
    • 80 and Over
    • Wheelchair
    Note: Age-categories are based on the participant´s year of birth. Age as of December 31, not your present age.
Wheelchairs

The Tely 10 Mile Road Race is open to wheelchair participants. To be eligible for awards all wheelchair participants must meet the following key criteria:

  • Only hand operated, mechanical steering devices are allowed;
  • No mechanical gears or levers are allowed to propel the wheelchair.

Assisted wheelchair participants and participants with powered wheelchairs are not eligible for awards and must ensure that their aide is also entered into the race.

No Saturday Registration

To improve race management, beginning in 2010, the Saturday´s in-person race registration will no longer be available. We will still offer Saturday race kit´s pick-up but strongly encourage all participants to take advantage of the online or mail-in registration.

Going Green! The Tely 10 Committee is pleased to offer digital Achievement Certificates! To reduce the carbon footprint and impact on the environment, starting in 2010, traditional paper certificates will no longer be mailed out. Instead, digital certificates will be available for download.
