COVID-19 Guidelines

Organizing an event compliant with COVID-19 guidelines is challenging; we need your cooperation and support to make the event safe for everyone, including participants, organizers, volunteers and spectators.

  • The meet is limited to participants residing in the Eastern Regional Integrated Health Authority.
  • All participants must agree to follow and comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • All races are capped.
  • All participants, volunteers, organizers, and spectators should wear masks at the start area/line. Participants can remove their mask once they cross the start line and put it back on after crossing the finish line.
  • All individual races have a time-limit.
  • Start Line: participants will start in waves, 1-3 seconds apart, and will assemble behind the start line, maintaining a 2m distance.
  • Results will be based on the net (chip) time, not gun time. Race results will not be posted on-site but available online after the competition is over.
  • Please arrive at the start area no earlier than 20 min before the scheduled start of your event.
  • Leave the competition site immediately after completing your race.
  • Pick up bib numbers from Pearlgate Track and Field Complex, Mount Pearl, from 12 to 2 pm, Saturday, November 7.
  • Online registration only! Registration deadline: 11:59 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2020.
  • Due to COVID-19 and event number maximums, EVERYBODY attending the event, including all coaches, volunteers, officials and spectators, needs to register online. Event organizers need to know the exact number of people at the venue. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • age 16 to 80+ (U20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80+)
    (born in 2008 and earlier)
  • Time Limit: 50 minutes
  • Cap: 90 entries

4km U18
  • age 14 to 17 (born in 2007 through 2010)
  • Time Limit: 30 minutes
  • Cap: 45 entries

2km U16
  • age 12 to 15 (born in 2009 through 2012)
  • Time Limit: 20 minutes
  • Cap: 45 entries

This is a no bling event
  • There are no awards at this event.
  • Event organizers will post all results online after the meet is over. No results will be posted/announced on-site.

Basic Information

The event is held under the COVID-19 guidelines.

Online registration only; register before 11:59 pm, Thursday, November 5, 2020.

Must pick up bib numbers between 12 and 2 pm on Saturday, November 7 (Pearlgate TF Complex, Mount Pearl).

Must arrive at the start area no earlier than 20 min before starting your event; leave the site as soon as your event is over.

No awards

Results are based on chip (net) time, not on gun time.

Must wear a mask unless you are competing.

All participants, spectators, coaches, volunteers must complete the self-assessment form before arriving at Bowring Park.

Registration Information

Event registration cap is based on each competition category (male and female combined):
U16 - 45 entries;
U18 - 45 entries;
Open - 90 entries.

Confirming your Online Registration is the responsibility of each participant completing the registration. After entering all personal information, you must click on  PROCEED TO STEP 2  for payment. Clicking on  SAVE & COMPLETE LATER  will not register participants for the event. Athletes successfully registered for the meet will have THEIR NAME APPEAR IMMEDIATELY ON THE CONFIRMATION LIST.

Location

Bowring Park is located in the Waterford Valley, St. John's. No Change rooms on-site.

Parking, Entrance and Access to the Park

Participants and spectators should use the Western entrance Parking Lot to park and enter the Park. Vehicle access to Bowring Park is limited to service vehicles. Vehicles are not permitted on landscaped areas. Vehicles access is not permitted during the event.

Race Course

All races will be held on the trails of Bowring Park. The course is hilly; most of the trail surface is covered with gravel. The racecourse is NOT suitable for using spikes. The course is marked with orange ribbons, flags, and traffic cones – approximate length course loop 2km.
