Parent/Guardian Information: Roles and Responsibilities
Be familiar with the teacher sponsor or representative for your school, or for the school your child represents. Direct questions about registration, event assignments, and start times to your student's teacher sponsor.
After Tuesday, May 26, review the online registration to ensure your child is signed up for the correct events. If you have any concerns about registration, please get in touch with the teacher sponsor.
On Friday, May 29, find out the lane and heat assignments for your child posted on the TrackFest website.
Ensure your child arrives at TrackFest on time and is ready to participate!
Missing event start time: Athletes arriving late, including checked-in athletes, or missing their event start time, are not permitted to change heats. If a runner misses their heat, they will not receive another opportunity and will be marked as Did not Start (DNS).
Ensure your child wears proper athletic footwear. Turf shoes, bare feet, slippers, or socks are not allowed in any event.
If your child is unable to attend, inform the teacher immediately, as timely notice is essential for team events where participants rely on each member's presence and performance.
Parents are not permitted on the main level (track level) and should use the second floor of the fieldhouse to view the competition, ensuring clear access for participants and officials.
Understand and respect the roles of event staff, coaches, and volunteers.
Respect restricted areas by avoiding sections designated for athletes, event organizers or officials, especially areas where results are being recorded or processed.
Teachers are responsible for bib pick-up on the day of TrackFest. Parents/guardians will not receive the student's bib numbers, packages, ribbons, or similar items.
