To ensure student participation in TrackFest, each school must have a Teacher Sponsor or a school leader.
Teacher Sponsors are expected to attend TrackFest, collect school packets, distribute bib numbers, and represent the school if needed.
Teachers, school coaches, or community recreation leaders can implement the Run-Jump-Throw-Wheel program. This school-based program uses Track & Field-inspired games, activities, and skill challenges to teach the fundamentals of running, jumping, throwing, and wheeling (for children in wheelchairs).
While we do not require performance or attendance data from the school-based program, we encourage teachers and coaches to incorporate these run, jump, throw, and wheel fundamentals into physical education programs or after-school activities. This will help ensure that all interested students are eligible and prepared for the Provincial TrackFest Program.
