Stephen Delaney of St. John’s made valuable contributions to athletics as a builder, filling many important positions and devoting a great deal of knowledge and time to the advancement of the sport. He has filled vital and important positions for the improvement of athletics in many ways, especially in technical areas.

He was the key innovator along with Bill Pomeroy in the purchase of an electronic timing system that is important to road racing. As a timer for the NLAA road race series he approached his responsibilities with great knowledge and deep interest.

An executive member of the Athletics North East Running Club, he is a former race director for the Cape to Cabot event and was a timer for NLAA road race series, integral in the advancement of Chip Timing/Bib Timing within Newfoundland and Labrador. He set up and manages ANE Ecommerce website and is manager of all ANE websites.

His overall contributions to the area of athletics in which he possesses exceptional knowledge have been extremely successful in the improvement of many important aspects of the sport. He is elected in the builder category.
